Publication Ethics
All Python Publishing Press journals follow the same publication ethics standards, based on the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Each journal shows the full text under All Policies in its menu; this page summarises them.
Authors
- Submit only original work that has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
- Cite sources properly. Every submission is checked for plagiarism.
- List as authors only those who made a substantial contribution, and describe each author's role.
- Declare funding and any competing interests.
- Report data honestly and make it available where possible. Disclose any use of generative AI tools.
Editors
- Judge manuscripts on their academic merit alone.
- Keep submissions confidential and declare any conflicts of interest.
- Handle complaints, appeals and suspected misconduct through documented procedures.
Reviewers
- Review objectively, on time and in confidence.
- Declare conflicts of interest and decline reviews they cannot do fairly.
Corrections and retractions
Errors are corrected openly. Articles found to contain serious errors or misconduct are retracted with a notice that stays linked to the original.
